Carnival 2025 in Trinidad has been a vibrant showcase of culture, music, and artistry, drawing thousands of revelers and spectators. Amidst the festivities, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), or drones, have become a popular tool for capturing breathtaking aerial views of the celebrations. From the Parade of the Bands to the pulsating energy of fetes, UAVs offer a unique perspective that enhances the Carnival experience.

However, with great technology comes great responsibility. The Trinidad and Tobago Civil Aviation Authority (TTCAA) has implemented strict regulations to ensure the safe and lawful use of UAVs during Carnival. Designated “No Fly Zones” include areas such as Port of Spain, Chaguaramas, and Caroni, as well as any location within five kilometers of airports or helipads. UAVs are also restricted from flying over crowded areas, public events, or exceeding an altitude of 400 feet.

Adhering to these laws is crucial for several reasons. Firstly, unauthorized drone activity poses significant safety risks, including potential collisions with manned aircraft or harm to individuals on the ground. Secondly, such incidents divert valuable law enforcement resources, hindering efforts to maintain public safety. Lastly, respecting these regulations ensures that everyone can enjoy Carnival without disruptions or hazards.

As UAVs continue to revolutionize how in the Caribbean document and experience events, it is essential for all operators to act responsibly. Do follow the TTCAA’s guidelines and be safe!
